Wilma Warner Seal

February 26, 1938 - October 7, 2024

Wilma Warner Seal, 86, a native of Stateline and a resident of Varnado, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Timmy (Missy) Seal of Varnado and Barry (Amy) Seal of Franklinton; 5 grandchildren Derek Seal of Franklinton, Logan (Madelyn) Seal and Madysan Seal of Baton Rouge, McKinley Seal and Kaylan (Colby) Smith of Franklinton; one great grandson Wyatt Seal of Bogalusa; daughter-in-law Sherry Seal of Franklinton; brother-in-law Billy W. Seal of Bogalusa;  sisters-in-law Sylvia Slade of Angie and Annette (Mike) Thomas of Varnado; numerous nieces and nephews and her caretaker Judy Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leon B. Seal; a son Dennis K. Seal; her parents Clarence and Beulah Branch Warner; her father and mother-in-law Louis and Pollyann Seal; four sisters Claudine Warner Chestnut, Bobbye Warner Hughes, Ernestine Warner Seal, and Delores Warner; her brother Wilton Warner; brothers-in-law Billy Hughes, Gilbert Holden, Bob Chestnut, Perry Seal, Milton “Bear” Seal, Hilton “Honey” Seal, and Silmon “Poochie” Seal; sisters-in-law Mildred Warner, Mattie Lee Easterling, and Norma Plaunche; and a niece Sue Chestnut Baker.

She worked at the Varnado and Angie branch libraries for numerous years, but being a wife and mother was her passion.  Her grand and great grandchildren were the light of her life.  She was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Varnado.

Services to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa with the visitation at 10:00 am until the service time at 2:00 pm with Bro. Kelly Penton officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Williams Cemetery in Varnado.

Pallbearers will be Derek Seal, Logan Seal, Wyatt Seal, Randy Chestnut, Colby Smith, and Ricky Holden.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Cunningham, Greg Holden, Roger Warner, and Kelton Breland.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the building fund at First Missionary Baptist Church of Varnado.

Poole Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa is in charge of the arrangements.
