Vernon Oscar Branch, age 82 and a resident of Pine, passed away early Wednesday morning October 23, 2024 at his home. He was retired after a long career as a brick layer and the owner of Vernon Branch Masonry. Vernon laid the brick and helped construct numerous projects, both large and small, across Washington Parish. He built the Washington Parish and Bogalusa jails, Rayburn Correctional Institute buildings, numerous churches and homes, and he was proud to have done the masonry for all the fireplaces in the historic cabins of Mile Branch Settlement. He liked to do tractor work around his property and woodworking projects.
