Obituary

Glenn Cody Wells

February 15, 1989 - October 3, 2024

Glenn Cody Wells, 35-year-old and a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on October 3rd, 2024. Affectionately known as "BIG Wells," was a man who embraced life with open arms and a heart as big as his presence. He cherished spending time with his cousins, especially when they went fishing, one of his favorite pastimes. His love for cooking was well known, even if it meant using every dish in the house to create a meal. Beyond the kitchen, Cody had a true talent for art. His home was filled with little sketches and random drawings, a testament to his creativity and passion for expressing himself.

At first glance, Cody's towering figure, covered with tattoos, might have seemed intimidating to strangers, but those who knew him understood that beneath the exterior was a kind-hearted soul. Cody was a gentle giant, a true "teddy bear" who cared deeply for the people he loved. His fiancé, family and friends were the center of his world, and he would do anything to support and protect them.

Cody was not only kind, but he was also wise beyond his years. When he offered advice, it came from a place of deep thought and understanding. Yet, he never took life too seriously. He found joy in the simple things, like playing around with Facebook filters, recording funny videos that could easily entertain him.

Though Cody faced many challenges throughout his life, he never stopped dreaming. His aspirations were always bigger than the world around him, a reflection of his powerful spirit and desire for more than what life had to offer.

Cody "BIG Wells" will be remembered for his warmth, his wisdom, and his ability to bring light and laughter to those lucky enough to know him. He was truly one of a kind.

He is survived by his mother, Connie Cotton. His beloved fiancĂ© and best friend “Kayla Ann” Thomas. His daughters Makenna Wells-Flynt, Mackenzie Wells-Smith, Mackenna Wells-Smith, and Mackenlie Smith and his son Bryant Paul Wells. He is also survived by his grandparents Thomas Mitchell and Donna (Doyle) Creel both of Bogalusa, Louisiana. His aunts Shawn (Patrick) Wilson of Sulphur, Louisiana, Raven Mitchell of Bogalusa, Louisiana, Caitlyn (Ashli) Sanders of Rowlett, Texas, and Cindy (Mike) Seal of Pine, Louisiana. His uncles, Jerry (Shannon) Gerald of Walker, Louisiana. Todd (Amy) Wells of Crossroads, Mississippi, and Marty Wells, alongside numerous cousins and family members who loved him deeply.

He is preceded in death by his father Glenn Paul Wells, his sons Uriah Paul Wells and Glenn Cody Wells Jr, and grandmothers Shirley Bickham and Darlene Gerald.

Poole Ritchie Funeral home will be handling the arrangements. Memorial service may be held at a later date.
