Charline Goings Cefalu

May 11, 1932 - October 15, 2024

Charline Goings Cefalu, age 92 and a resident of the Pine Community, passed away early Tuesday morning October 15, 2024 at Good Samaritan Living Center. She was a former longtime resident of Franklinton. Charline was married to the late Eld. Anthony Cefalu and together they served the Lord through countless church mission projects. Visiting and serving at newly established churches, preaching revivals and at evangelical conferences and events. Together they also pastored at Bayou Chene Baptist Church and Sones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Carriere, MS for a time. She loved reading and was also an excellent cook, especially meatballs and spaghetti, a family favorite. Charline adored her family and loved spending quality time with them for meals and other get-togethers.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Annette Marie and Mike Brumfield of Daphne, AL; Son in law: Ernest Verret of Franklinton; Grandchildren and Spouses: Christina and Steven Branch, Heidi and Nathan Williams, Nathan Verret, Robin Brumfield, Anthony Knight; Great-grandchildren and Spouses: Rachel and Jordan Smith, Jacob Branch, Anna Branch and fiancé Jacob Dykes, Cassa Williams, Joseph Williams; Great-great-grandchildren: Cash Michael, Mya Anne, Hampton Ray, Emmalyn Jolie; Also numerous beloved nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Carl Joseph Cefalu, daughter Cynthia Ann Cefalu Verret, parents Carl Goings and Jessie Crowe Goings, a brother Richard Goings and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday October 19th from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm Saturday with Eld. Richard Magee and Eld. Lavon Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to The Gideons, to provide Bibles to people all over the world (www.gideons.org) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
