Neta Von Dykes Duncan
February 14, 1938 - October 2, 2024
Neta Von Dykes Duncan, age 86 and a resident of the Hackley Community, passed away Wednesday morning October 2, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She worked alongside her husband and later her son on the family dairy farm, Duncan Acres, for nearly all of her adult life. Neta was a hard-worker always willing to perform any job needed, for the dairy, her family, church or community. She put the needs of others well above herself and enjoyed caring for her husband and family. Neta was a member of New Stateline Baptist Church that often provided meals for her church family or others in the community that were ill or had lost a loved one. She was an excellent cook, especially known for her delicious egg custard pies, and she made different jellies that were later shared with her family and friends. Neta enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing and painting, with many pretty paintings displayed around her home. She loved working in her yard and tending her vegetable and flower gardens. Earlier in life, she and her husband traveled often with a special group of friends, visiting Australia, New Zealand, several countries in Europe, and just about every state including Hawaii. Neta loved vanilla ice cream cones while at home relaxing or anytime she had a doctor visit or trip out of town. She was certainly the backbone of her family, always there for each and every need, whether working long hours on the dairy, giving her trusted advice or a simple encouragement in the times when it mattered. Neta will be forever missed by all those that loved her.
