Obituary

Henry Harrison Williams II

July 16, 1957 - October 9, 2024

Henry Harrison “Harry” Williams II, 67, passed away at his home in Angie, LA on October 9, 2024. He was affectionately known to his family and friends as “Harry”.

Harry was born in Bogalusa, LA on July 16, 1957, and was a lifelong resident of the Varnado and Angie communities. He was a dairy farmer until his retirement in December of 2023 and served on the board of the USDA Farm Service Agency.  He spent many years riding in the MCCA parade with his groups, Jesters and Confusion. When Harry was not working his farm, you could find him tending his deer plots, relaxing at the beach, or catching the LSU game with friends.

He never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who crossed his path.  If you did not see him coming, a joke and big smile would let you know he was near.  When anyone needed anything, he would simply reply, “Let me get my work boots on, and I’ll be right there.”

Harry is survived by his wife of 42 years Laurie F. Williams; daughter Brittney (fiancé Brett Moore); father-in-law Lonnie Fornea; furry companion Lucy; brother Charles (Margaret) Williams; sister Betty Sumrall; sister Linda (Cliff) Morris; brother-in-law Jeff (Traci) Fornea; nieces Mary (Louis) Adams, Judy (Larry) Warner, Bonnie (Tim) Granger, Sandra Magee, Cindy Taylor, and Charlene (Dwayne) Williams; nephews Chuck (Peggy) Williams, Jeff Williams, Derek (Baxter) Morris, and Dusty Morris; and many cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his father BJ Williams, mother Margie Crain Williams, sister Cora Sue Pope, mother-in-law Jerri Anne Fornea, and nephew Hunter Fornea.

The service to celebrate Harry’s life will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends Friday, October 11, 2024 from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm and again Saturday morning from 9:00 am until the service time at 11:00 am.  Rev. Mary Rasch and Elder Duane Ball will officiate the service.  Harry will then be laid to rest at the H.H. Williams Cemetery, his namesake, in Angie, LA.

Poole Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA is in charge of the arrangements.
