Amite Man Arrested for Murder of 19 Year-Old Pregnant Girlfriend

On Friday (October 25, 2024, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) arrested 22 year-old Demarcus Womack of Amite, for the shooting death of his pregnant girlfriend. Womack has been booked on one count each of 2nd Degree Murder, 2nd Degree Murder (Feticide), and Obstruction of Justice.

Just before 7 a.m. on Friday, the TPSO was called to a home on Bankston Road in Amite after a 19-year-old female was found unresponsive. Upon arrival, deputies located Aieron Thomas, who was 13 weeks pregnant, shot once in the chest. She did not survive.

Deputies quickly identified Womack, Thomas’ live-in boyfriend, as a suspect in the case. Once deputies located Womack, he reportedly admitted to the shooting as well as trying to hide evidence of the crime.

Sheriff Gerald Sticker wants to commend the TPSO’s Criminal Investigations team for swift and solid work on this case, bringing closure to this family and hopefully helping them begin the healing process.
