Delores Walker Peters

May 5, 1960 - August 31, 2024

Delores W. Peters was born May 05, 1960 in New Brunswick, New Jersey to the late Charles "CW" Walker and SilveReen Gibson. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and friend. Delores humbly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Delores attended New Brunswick Public Schools and was a graduate of New Brunswick High School in 1978. She worked for many years as a claims adjuster for Hanover Insurance Group.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Freddie Peters, Sr. in 1991. This union was blessed with five children. Mr. Freddie preceded her in death on March 31, 2013.

In 1997 she moved to Bogalusa, Louisiana where she found joy in educating young children throughout the community. She received an Associates in Early Childhood Development from NTCC- Sullivan Campus and Bachelors in Early Education from Northwestern State University of Louisiana

Delores was able to educate young lives by working for Hippy Head Start of Franklinton, substitute teaching for Bogalusa City schools, private tutoring, and volunteering for community events and organizations.

During her time as an educator, she received many accolades and honors for the work she did with children and families of the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles "CW" Walker and SilveReen Gibson, her sister Patricia Walker, In laws Hilton and Edgie Peters.

Services will be at Cook-Richmond & Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on September 13, 2024. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on September 14, 2024.
