Kenneth Lamar "Kenny" Barker
December 9, 1993 - September 18, 2024
On September 18, 2024 our Lord and Savior called home a hero. He called and Kenny answered, but not before saving the lives of others.
Kenneth was born on December 9, 1993 in Covington, LA to Mary Ann Barker and Randy Smith. Although, Randy was his biological father, Kennard Flowers was the dad he knew and loved.
At an early age, he attended school in Covington, LA and transferred to Franklinton High School, where he graduated. Kenny was proud to be a part of the FHS Demons Football team. He received a degree in welding from NTCC before getting his CDL’s. Kenny was far from being a “lazy man”. Some would call him a jack of all trades. He liked being a welder, but he loved being a truck driver even more. Trucking was not only a passion, it was in his blood. He followed the footsteps of the men that came before him. Many people pre-judged and labeled him by sight. To his family and friends, he was known as a son, father, protector, motivator, teacher, fighter, and so much more. Kenny wanted each and everyone of his friends and family members to strive to be a better person. He would want for us to pick up the pieces where he left off and keep going.
Kenneth came from a large family and he will be greatly missed. He leaves to mourn his mother, Mary Ann Barker of Brentwood, Tennessee; father, Kennard Flowers of Folsom, Louisiana; son, Kayden Bush of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, McKenzie Barker; an unborn son, and fiancé, Brittany James all of Madisonville, Louisiana; sisters, Shakelia Coleman (Ciara Hughes) of San Antonio, Texas, Todaey Barker of Covington, Louisiana, Kaytlyn Barker (Demartez Halley) and Destiny Dykes both from Franklinton, Louisiana, Fantasia Hughes and Anissa Jenkins both of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Arion “Sonny Boy” and Elouise Barker, Kennard Flowers, Sr. and Beatrice Williams; brother, X’ykie Barker; uncles, Perry and Larry Barker; two aunts, Eula and Kathy Barker.
