Obituary

Irma Lee May Taylor

September 14, 1942 - September 24, 2024

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 11 Timothy 4:7

We know there is a crown of righteousness laid up for our sister that the Lord is waiting to give her. Irma was born on September 14,1942 to the late Monroe and Joanna Thompson May. She was the tenth child of fourteen children. Irma said, I’m tired y'all and there's a leak in this old building and on Tuesday, September 24, 2024., Irma made up her mind to move from her earthly home to her heavenly homie. Though we will miss her dearly, we know that she is alright now, our sister doesn.t have to hurt or suffer any more. No more aches and pains, no more tears for her to shed. Irma is happy now. She is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Irma Lee attended Wesley Ray School in Angie, La, Upon graduating, she moved to California where she began her relationship with Christ, She was taught at an early age to trust in the Lord with all her heart and to lean not unto her own understanding but in all her ways acknowledge Him and He will direct her path, When our parents health began to fail them, Irma moved back home and took care of them until they went home to be with the Lord. Irma was a caregiver. She had a passion for taking care of the people she loved. We believed with all of our hearts that taking care of others was her purpose in life that God had given her. And she did it with all of her heart. Because she cared, a lot of the time she was taken advantage of, mistreated and misunderstood. But Irma kept right on giving until she couldn't anymore. In her early years, Irma was a member of St. John Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop John White. After her marriage to Addie Taylor, Irma united with Light of the Deliverance Ministry. When her husband passed away, Irma joined Allen Temple under the leadership of Elder Robert Earl Williams. After the declining health of Pastor Williams, Irma joined Glorious Church under the leadership of Pastor Victor Robinson Sr. where she served until, she no longer could.

Irma leaves to cherish her memories three brothers, Jerry (Louis) May, Perry (Lucille) May of Angie, LA and David (Jessie) May of Denham Springs, LA; two sisters, Aaran Carter Nicholson of Little Rock, AR and Vernell Asper of Irvine CA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was proceeded in death, her husband Addie Taylor, her parents Monroe and Joanna Thompson May, five brothers, Curtis May, Leroy May, Harlem May, Terry May and Monroe Wade May, four sisters, Yvonne May, Vergie Lee Robinson, Lois Smith and Ernestine Ball.
