Julian Byron Little
May 1, 1960 - September 17, 2024
Julian Byron Little, 64, of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at his residence.
Julian was born May 1, 1960, in Bogalusa. He was a lifelong resident of the Plainview Community. Julian spent nearly 30 years of his career working for Norfolk Southern Railroad.
He was MacGyver, especially with duct tape. He could fix almost anything mechanical but only he knew how he did it. Julian enjoyed “tinkering” especially with keeping his favorite dump truck, “Old Yeller” AKA “Frank-en-yellow” running. And, along with his career at the railroad, he maintained his dirt company, often seen running loads to and from around town.
Retirement allowed Julian to enjoy hunting, cheering on the Saints and LSU, and crawfish boils with friends. He especially enjoyed time spent with his eight grand babies, whom he loved dearly.
Julian will be missed by his family and friends and remembered fondly for his laid-back personality and among other things, his inventive mechanical ingenuity.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ulvik Little; his son, Rob (Ashley) Little of Bogalusa; and daughter, Jamie (Ryan) Loyd of Enon; eight grandchildren, Addison Loyd, Rosa Loyd, Daniel Loyd, Tobias Loyd, Katie Loyd, Henry Loyd, Juliet Loyd, and Adam Little; two brothers, Allen (Charlene) Little of Baton Rouge, LA, Kenny (Karen) Little of Franklinton; and one sister, Alyce (Skip) Carraway of Whitehall, AR.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Ruth Thomas Little; granddaughter, Rachael Loyd; and sister, Barbara Little Hunt.
Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Brother Mike Daniel, Brother Paul Cantrell, and Brother Scott Breland will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 12:00 pm (noon) until services, Monday at the funeral home.
