Loretta (Jean) Sullivan Pigott
September 29, 1940 - September 12, 2024
Jean Sullivan Pigott passed away September 12, 2024 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida.
Jean was born in Bogalusa, LA and raised in the Ben’s Ford area around Bogalusa. She graduated from Bogalusa High School class of '58, attended Southeastern University in Hammond and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Georgia State University.
She spent her career in banking (First Bank in Slidell) and investments (Legg Mason in New Orleans) helping others.
She was an avid quilter and created many beautiful quilts.
She was a songwriter and piano player which she learned from her mother. She had a deep love of southern gospel, traditional country, and the standards. Her favorite song was Softly As I Leave You.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Wilton Pigott (d. 06/30/24). Her parents Charles Henry Sullivan and Loretta Wood Sullivan, a sister Betty Sullivan Remel, and a brother Charles Henry Sullivan !!
She is survived by her son Jeff W Pigott,, two grandsons Joshua and Daniel Pigott and a great granddaughter Gracie. A sister-in-law Patricia Pigott Ezell, a nephew Ty Ezell (Amy), as well as many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life for Jean on Friday, September 27th from 2pm-4pm at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home Bogalusa La. Burial at Ponemah Cemetery to follow.
