Vernon "Pete" Stanley Freeman

November 5, 1949 - September 5, 2024

Vernon “Pete” Stanley Freeman, was born in Bogalusa, LA, on November 5, 1949, passed away on September 5, 2024 at St Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA, at the age of 74.

Pete is preceded in death by his wife Hilda C. Freeman; parents Acie Freeman and Molly Creel Freeman; a son Dale Hines; grandsons Timothy John Williams, Lance Melder, and Mister Carroll; a granddaughter Erica Carroll; great grandson Alex Wheat; a sister Louise Freeman Stubbs; brothers Dennis Lloyd Freeman, and Dewitt Freeman, Edward Earl Freeman, Dale Freeman.

Survivors include a daughter Betsy Gaither and son Timothy Williams; grandchildren Katina Ford, Brad Hines, Tabitha Jackson, Jennifer Stevens, Laura Hines, Christi Cheramine, Kasey McNeese, Samantha Williams, Virginia Williams, Julie Miller, Michelle Mohon, Brandy Carroll, Tiffany Carroll, Toni Carroll, and Mike Carroll; great grandchildren Kelsey Roberts, Valarie Spears, Kenneth Spears, Gabrielle Roberts, Alanna Rueda, Arianna Stevens, Joshua Roberts, Harlie Wheat, Nathaniel Crenshaw, Nicholas Crenshaw, Layla Wheat, Hallie Williams, Jordan Williams, Logan Jackson, Lexie Saucier, Destiny Saucier, Kristen Ceaser, Randa Corkern, Brody McNeese, Presley McNeese, Adley McNeese, Rogue Axle McNeese, James Miller, Ema Miller, Rhett Miller, Lilah Jayne Mohon, Aiden Williams, Jasmin Jones, Kayden McNabb, Mary Robertson, Elijah Carroll, Damian Carroll, Francisco Carroll,  Nevaeh Carroll, Ashanti Carroll, Aaliyah Carroll, Tyrone Carroll, Maya Carroll, McKenna Lee, and Keydyn Lee; 9 great-great-great grandchildren, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews .  

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday September 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Star Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Warnerton, LA.
