Thelma Howell Lambert
October 27, 1941 - September 26, 2024
Thelma Howell Lambert, age 82 and a resident of the Watson Community, passed away Thursday morning September 26, 2024. She was a native and longtime resident of Mount Hermon before moving to her daughter’s home 8 years ago. Thelma worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the long-term care and home care industry. She served those in need at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs as well as other nursing homes. Thelma also worked for CARE, Inc. in Hammond for many years. She was always a deeply loving person both to her family and those she knew well, but also to each and every person she worked with or cared for. Thelma never let an opportunity pass to tell someone “I Love You”, including the many doctors and nurses that cared for her through the years. She attended Jesus Ministry church in Baker and loved the Lord and her church family. Thelma enjoyed going to the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee with her family each year and they even took a recent trip to North Carolina to see the sites there. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family and spending time with her young grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by: 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Bernice Susan and Jerry Marshall of Watson, Thelma Elaine Garner of Tickfaw; 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Daniel Charles and Delores Lambert of Franklinton, Darrell Batice Lambert of Denham Springs; 3 Step-children and their families: John B. and Becky Lambert of Marksville, Brian Ray Lambert of Florida, Betty Ann Dupre of Denham Springs; Grandchildren and Spouses: Jensen and Lee Caro, Jessie Lambert and Lanie LeBrun, Ashley Whatley, Sierra and Brandon Cormier, Kayla and Steven Lane; 10 Great-grandchildren; Sister: Callie Ried of Sun; Brother and Sister in law: David Earl and Vanessa Howell of Pearl River; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members
She was preceded in death by her son Clarence Wayne Lambert, husband John Batice Lambert, step-daughter Janice Booty, parents Jonny Howell and Myrtle Granger Howell, sister and brother in law Helen and Leroy Jenkins, brothers Frank Howell, Sr., Ernest Howell, sister Ann Maclin and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Wednesday October 2nd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday with Rev. Melvin Rushing and Rev. Ronnie Smith offiviating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
