Slidell Woman Accused of Embezzling Over $16,000 From School

On Friday (August 16, 2024), the Slidell Police Department assisted the Picayune School District Police Department (PSDPD) with the arrest of 46-year-old, Angela Moody of Slidell. Moody is accused of embezzling over $16,000 from the Roseland Park Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, located in Pearl River County, Mississippi. Moody was formerly employed by the Picayune School District as a teacher aide.

Chief Investigator, Chris Wagner of the PSDPD, has been investigating Moody since May of this year. The investigation determined that Moody embezzled the funds in order to assist with opening a new restaurant in Pearl River, Louisiana.

With the assistance of the Pearl River Police Department, Moody was taken into custody and was booked into the Slidell City Jail as a fugitive. Moody will be transferred to the St. Tammany Parish Jail where she will ultimately be extradited back to Mississippi in order to face her charges.
