David "Steve" Barber
January 22, 1957 - August 1, 2024
Mr. David Barber, age 67, passed away August 1, 2024. He was a Bogalusa High School graduate. He admired guns and collecting. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, his family, music, played guitar and piano. David was a lifelong butcher.
He is survived by two daughters: Jennifer (Dustin) Bounds and Tonya (Colby) Bounds; nine grandchildren: Gavin Samford, Kaden Lankford, Karcin Bounds, Makala Bounds, Zohen Bounds, Madalyn Bounds, Presten Bounds, Keagan Bounds, and Hunter Bertioneer; one sister: Sarah Barber Baughman; and also numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
He is preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife: Stephanie Sheridan Barber; one grandchild: Jayden Channing Bounds; both parents John Wesley Barber and Janie Louise McCain Barber; four brothers: Melvin Barber (Edith), Merle Barber (Carol), Tommy Barber, and Bruce Barber; and two sisters: Ruby (Virgil) Brumfield and Lola (John) Siebert.
Brown-McGehee Funeral was entrusted with the final arrangements. Visitation will take place from 1PM until 3PM in the funeral home chapel Thursday, August 8, 2024, followed by a graveside service at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
