Leroy Smith

March 17, 1963 - July 20, 2024

Leroy Smith, age 61, passed away on July 20, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband and friend.

Leroy was born on March 17, 1963, in New Orleans LA where he spent his formative years. He went on to attend school at Pine High School and later became a pipe fitter at Cajun Construction Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.

But more than anything, Leroy was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, playing games, and watching their favorite family movies. He was also there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

In his free time, Leroy enjoyed shooting pool, working on cars, and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Relone (Richard) Wilson, Christopher Brumfield, Nypreyia (Bryan) Angel, Leroy Fields, Sandy, Malonise and Joshua Smith, fifteen grandchildren, his siblings: Mizell (Yolanda) Causey, Karen (Donald) Smith, Lionell (Norma) Causey, Miles Strothers, Pamela Causey. A special friend Carol Blue, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Iristean Hart and Miles Causey, his wife Josie Smith, daughter Shanette Brumfield, two brothers Leon Smith and Dwayne Causey.  

Leroy will be deeply missed by all. May God rest his soul. 

A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 9:00AM till 11:00AM with the funeral service beginning at 11:00AM at Greater Hayes Creek Missionary Baptist Church 31499 Hayes Creek Rd, Franklinton, LA 70438 with Rev. Jerome Warren Pastor officiating.
