Tammy Lynn Maples

March 25, 1972 - August 2, 2024

Tammy Lynn Maples, age 52 and a resident of Mount Hermon, passed away early Friday morning August 2, 2024 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born March 25, 1972 and was a graduate of Mt. Hermon High School Class of 1990. She loved working and being in the outdoors. Tammy enjoyed mowing and tractor work, taking care of beef cattle, feeding and hunting deer and fishing. She liked to ride her 4-wheeler and take walks with her dogs. They would often sit under the Mayhaw tree, where Tammy could gather the berries that she then made into delicious jelly. She also made syrup and loved to cook large meals for her family and friends. Tammy was talented as a mechanic, plumber and gardener, but her pets, family and friends were always her greatest joys.

Survived by: Mother: Linda Smith Maples of Mt. Hermon; Sister and Brother in law: Stefanie and Jason Bankston of Mt. Hermon; Brother and Sister in law: Glynn and Angie Maples and their children Reese. Aileese, Deneese All of Isabel; Aunts and Uncles: Sandra and Jim Zenner, Paul D. Jr. and Brenda Alford, Margaret Williamson all of Mt. Hermon, Tommy Smith of Bush, Charles and Judy Smith of Baton Rouge; Special Friends: Paul and Brenda Madere and their family, James Crain, Jr. all of Mt. Hermon; Also numerous cousins, other extended family and many friends

She was preceded in death by her father Charles Edward Maples, brother Dwayne Perry Maples, grandfather Victor Maples, grandmothers Irene Maples, Alice Smith, grandparents Earmen and Mary Smith, uncles and aunts Abner Maples, Miriam and Gabby Lauwaert, Charlie Williamson, Jerry and Izelle Smith, Larry and Dottie Smith, Perry Smith, Barbara Smith and her pet Labradors through the years Taz, Charcoal, Bear, Rebel, Shadow and recently Lucky.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday August 7th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Maples Cemetery.

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the Louisiana Heart Center, Northshore Pulmonary Associates, nurse Lana Wood and the staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital for all their care and support.
