Preston Keith Richard, Sr.

May 30, 1984 - August 26, 2024

Preston Keith Richard, Sr., age 40 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Monday night August 26, 2024 at his home. He was a native of Oakdale, Louisiana, born on May 30, 1984, before moving to Washington Parish as a young man. Preston graduated from Mount Hermon High School Class of 2005. He was the owner/operator of Richard’s Auto Repair and Tires who enjoyed serving his many customers each day. Preston was always a hard-working man that cared about the needs of others. He loved deer hunting and kayaking on the Bogue Chitto River near his home. He enjoyed shooting pool in the game room he built, hosting Bar-B-Ques for his family and friends and playing around with his pet dogs. Preston was a devoted father that always looked out for the needs of his children and loved ones. He will forever be missed by his family and all that knew him.

Survived by: Children: Lacy Richard, Preston Richard, Jr. both of Franklinton; Step-daughter: Shelby Kay; Mother and Step-father: Angela and David Vilot of Denham Springs; Brothers and a Sister in law: Christopher Richard of Hammond, Justin, Sr. and JoAnn Richard and their children Jayla and Justin, Jr. all of Mt. Hermon; Grandparents: Nora Bradham of Gonzales, W.H. and Christine Byrd of Texas; Also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends

He was preceded in death by his father Hilton Richard, Jr., best friend Ryan Schilling and other family members.

A memorial service for his family and friends will be planned in the near future.
