On Friday (August 23, 2024), Ponchatoula Police arrested 23 year-old Jaquan Muse for the murder of Tyriese Hines on Thursday (August 22, 2024). Muse was taken into custody without incident with the assistance of the Hammond Police Department and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
On Thursday, the body of Tyriese Hines was located on Methvin Drive in Ponchatoula and he was pronounced deceased on the scene with an apparent gunshot wound. Muse was identified as a person of interest in the case and an arrest warrant was secured.
**All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty**
