On Sunday, August 4, 2024, Officers of the Bogalusa Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance located at a residence on the North side of Bogalusa.
On arrival, officers encountered an adult male and several juveniles involved in a verbal disturbance. During the course of the disturbance investigation, allegations of sexual abuse of a juvenile arose. Officers began an investigation in reference to these allegations and identified a 15-year-old victim.
Further investigation resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Christopher John Rachel. Rachel was charged with LRS 14:42-First Degree Rape.

The Administration of the Bogalusa Police Department commend the work of the officers involved in this case. These tragedy's take a toll on everyone involved and have no place in our community.
