Mildred Elzey

January 27, 1957 - July 6, 2024

Mildred Elzey, age 67, was born January 27, 1957, in Independence, LA. She was the daughter of the late Doris Taylor and Chester Martin. On Saturday, July 7, 2024 she departed her life at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was a homemaker and attended Mt. Hermon School.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Doris Taylor and Chester Martin; one brother, Hollis Elzie; one sister, Bernadine Jones; one son-in-law, Robert Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memories to four children, Dwayne Elzey, Natasha, Elzey and Mildyounn Brown of Mt. Hermon, LA; Jemerr Elzey of Osyka, MS; two brothers, Jerry Elzey of Mt. Hermon and Rico (LaShonda) Martin of Slidell, LA; four sisters, Emma McElven and Linda Dillon of Mt. Hermon, LA, Diane (Joesph) Reed of Osyka, MS, Ernestine Vaugh of New Orleans, LA; two aunts, Wilmer Tate and Shirley (Wallace) Miller of Mt. Hermon, LA; three uncles, Harold Martin and Milton Smith of Mt. Hermon, LA, Jeffro Martin of New Orleans, LA; fourteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM followed by funeral service at Unity Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Hilton Magee – Pastor Officiating. Interment – Unity Church Cemetery.
