At approximately 11:00 AM on June 1, 2024, the Franklinton Police Department (FPD) received a 911 notification of a domestic dispute at 528 Hilltop Avenue in Franklinton, LA. Upon arrival, officers discovered three gunshot victims at the scene. Tragically, one victim was pronounced deceased on-site.
The two other victims were transported by Northshore EMS to Riverside Medical Center. Due to the severity of their injuries, both individuals were subsequently airlifted to a Level 1 Trauma Center for further medical care.
The FPD reports that “Initial indications suggest this incident may be a murder-suicide.”
Chief Justin Brown of the Franklinton Police Department stated, "Our detectives are jointly working with the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office to ensure a thorough and comprehensive investigation. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time."
Identities of the victims have not been provided and no arrests have been reported. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
