Alberta Causey Brown

January 2, 1930 - June 22, 2024

“I have fought a good fight. I have kept the faith; Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to    me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”               -11 Timothy 4:7

Chapter 1 – “Her Birth”

Alberta Causey was born January 2, 1930 in Lexie, Mississippi to Hollis Causey and Mamie Bickham Causey. She was the fifth child of thirteen children. On June 22, 2024, at 10 am, the angels of the Lord entered her earthly home and stilled those loving hands.

Chapter 2 – “Her Early Days”

Her education included attending the Washington Parish High School in Franklinton, LA that  included her working at a canning plant in Franklinton. She held many jobs and retired as a Domestic Engineer. After high school, she met the love of her life, James Brown, Jt., at Hayes Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Franklinton. They were later married on February 12, 1949.

Chapter 3 – “Her Faith”

Alberta confessed Christ as her savior, early in life at the Hayes Creek Missionary Baptist Church and served as an active member. In the early 1950’s, she joined the Holmeville Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor E. Baham. Soon After, Rev. Tebo Wilson became her pastor, where she and her husband were ordained as Deacon and Deaconess by laying of hands. She also served under pastors Rev. J.R Porter, Rev. Richard Brumfield, Rev. Herbert Brown, Jr., Rev. Dr. Calvin Jackson, Sr., and for the last two years under the leadership of Rev.  Dr. Michael Jackson.

A drive through viewing will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home 2000  Washington Street  Franklinton, LA 70438.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 8AM - 10AM.

The funeral service will  begin at 10 AM at Holmville Missionary Baptist Church  12346 Hay Hollow Rd, Folsom, LA 70437 with Rev. Dr. Michael Jackson pastor officiating.
