Johnny Marshall Pounds

July 16, 1960 – June 1, 2024

Johnny Pounds, age 63 and of Denham Springs, LA, passed away on June 1, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. Johnny was born on July 16, 1960. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Pounds; mother, Myra Nell Pounds; and brothers Randy Sandifer and Ricky Hathorne, all of Bogalusa, LA.

He was a sportsman, enjoying the outdoors and fishing. He played men’s league softball, golf, baseball, basketball, and football. Johnny loved spending time with his grandchildren. He worked in sales all of his career, selling everything from cars to Blue Bell ice cream.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorraine Pounds; son Ryan (Britni) and their children Brayden, Cameron, Annison, and Quinn; son Cody (Holly) and their children Harley and Chevy. He is also survived by his special Aunt “Rita” Hathorne and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA on Saturday, June 8 at 11:00 A.M. A visitation be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the chapel.
