Edward D. Thomas

October 24, 1942 - June 20, 2024

Edward D. Thomas, age 81, passed away surrounded by family at Ocean Springs Hospital. He was a native of Washington Parish and born in Thomas, La. Mr. Edward devoted 45 years of his life to the forestry industry as a tree surgeon. He was also an Ordained Minister and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Vancleave, MS.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years: Mrs. Andrea “Ann” Champagne Thomas; one daughter: Renette Thomas Rollin (Raymond); Renette’s four children: April Westmoreland (Lamar), Brittany Rollin Lipsey, Raymond Rollin, Jr., Nikki Rollin (Prince Hill); his late son’s children: Danielle Picard, Lacie Thomas, and Jacob Thomas (Kristen); fourteen great-grandchildren: Tyler Thibodeaux, Madison Lipsey, Peyton Lipsey, Hunter Rollin, Cameron Lipsey, Kellie Lipsy, Skye Rollin, Kayden Bradley, McKenzie Bradley, Kao Hill, Hunter Thomas, Aiden Thomas, Rivers Boutte, and Reese Boutte; five great-great-grandchildren: Gabby Thibodeaux, Dawson Thibodeaux, Anna Lee Thibodeaux, Kaia Lipsey, and Kendall Lipsey; one brother: Samual Thomas (Cindy); three sisters: Janice Thomas (Jack H.), Hilda Alford (Royce), and Cassandra Hines (Jeff); two brother-in-laws: Ronald Champagne (Brenda) and Gary Champagne (Simone); three sister-in-laws: Patricia Thomas, Linda Champagne, and Anna Mae Champagne; and a host of numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Mr. Edward was preceded in death by his parents: Sampson and Edith Thomas; his only son: Edward “Eddie” D. Thomas; three brothers: William Thomas, Alton Thomas, and Willie Fay Thomas; and two brother-in-laws: Roy Champagne and Michael Champagne.

Active pallbearers are as follows: Raymond Rollin, Jr., Cameron Lipsey, Hunter Rollin, Jacob Thomas, Peyton Lipsey, and Tyler Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will include Prince Hill and Raymond Rollin, Sr.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home proudly serves Mr. Edward Thomas’ family. Saturday, June 22, 2024 visitation will take place in the funeral home chapel starting at 10AM until time of service at 3PM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Thomas Cemetery in Thomas, LA. Bro. Michael Davis and Bro. Colby Davis will officiate all services.
