Sylvan John "SJ" Barbazon

May 12, 1955 - June 19, 2024

Sylvan John "S.J." Barbazon, aged 69, passed away on June 19, 2024, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born in the same city on May 12, 1955, S.J. was a cherished resident and business owner in the community. He was the beloved husband of Sharon S. Barbazon for 31 years and a devoted father to Phillip Magee and Patrick "PJ" (LeManda "Mandy") Magee, both of Bogalusa, LA. He was also a proud grandfather to Rosalie and Jaxon Magee.

S.J. was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Rosalie Barbazon, and his brothers, Peter and Tyrone Barbazon. He leaves behind not only his immediate family but also a host of extended relatives, friends, and neighbors who will miss him dearly.

Professionally, S.J. was the long-time owner of the Long Branch Cafe, where his dedication and hard work were well known in the community. His passing leaves a void in both his personal and professional circles.

A private service will be held at a later date to honor his life and legacy. 

Poole Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana, will be assisting the family during this difficult time.
