Hugh Sammy Smith, II

October 1, 1960 - May 30, 2024

Hugh Sammy Smith, II, age 63 and of Osyka, MS, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Mount Hermon, LA. He was born Saturday, October 1, 1960 in Tylertown, MS.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 02, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown, MS. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Sammy was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting. He loved to garden and hunt for arrowheads. Mr. Sammy favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and feeding them M & M’s. Those memories will be cherished by the family. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Samuel Smith, I; mother, Bonnie O`Bryant Smith; brother, Jimmy Cannon.

Survivors include his son, Russ Smith (Abbey); daughter, Maggie Smith; grandchildren, Heidi Smith, Bo Smith, Sammy Smith, and Waylon Gilmore; brother, Larry Cannon (Lavell); sister, Nola Ranum (Todd); sister-in-law, Sadie Cannon: along with a host of nephews, friends, and loving family.
