A Mandeville-area traffic stop resulted in the seizure of nearly 350 counterfeit Oxycodone pills suspected to contain fentanyl, suspected drug money and a vehicle. It all started at approximately 11 a.m. on May 28, 2024 when a deputy with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Criminal Patrol 2nd District conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 1088 near the intersection of Oak Street in Mandeville.
The driver, 49-year-old Slidell resident Nathaniel Louis Arrington, was found to be in possession of one quarter pound of marijuana, nearly 350 counterfeit oxycodone pills suspected to contain fentanyl, a digital scale, plastic bags for repackaging drugs and $2,038. Further investigation led to the seizure of the $2,038 as well as the vehicle Arrington was driving at the time of the traffic stop.
Arrington was also found to be on probation until 2027 for a previous conviction of fentanyl possession. He was cited for several traffic violations and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on narcotics offenses.
“Our patrol deputies and the detectives with our Narcotics Division work closely together to identify individuals who are dealing drugs in our neighborhoods,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “I commend both the patrol deputy who made the stop and the detectives who followed up on the case for the work they did to get these dangerous drugs off the street.”
