Indictments in the Murder and Kidnapping of Callie Brunett and Her Four-Year-Old Daughter

This afternoon (June 20, 2024),  21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux announced the indictment of Daniel Callihan and Victoria Cox, who are implicated in the murder of Callie Brunett and her four-year-old daughter last week. 

Callihan is charged with two counts of first degree murder, aggravated kidnapping of a child, and second degree kidnapping. 

Cox is charged with accessory after the fact to murder, first degree murder, aggravated kidnapping of a child, and second degree kidnapping. 

The indictments were determined by a Tangipahoa Parish Grand Jury this morning and reported in open court before Judge Brian Abels at 12:30 p.m.  

On the morning of June 13, 2024, 35 year-old Callie Brunett of Loranger was found deceased in her home on Cooper Road and her  two small children, Jalie (age 6) and Erin (age 4) were unaccounted for. Callihan and Cox were later located in Jackson, MS and taken into custody. The two also face charges in Mississippi. Jalie was found alive but Erin was found deceased.
