Loranger – Yesterday (June 5, 2024) afternoon, shortly after 3:30 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 443 near Chappepeela Road in Tangipahoa Parish. The crash claimed the life of 43-year-old Jill Tarver of Hammond.
The initial investigation revealed that the crash occurred as Tarver was southbound on LA Hwy 443 in a 2014 Toyota Camry. For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.
Tarver was unrestrained and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. She was pronounced deceased on the scene. Tarver’s passenger was properly restrained and sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. The passenger was transported from the scene to a local hospital. A routine toxicology sample was obtained from Tarver for analysis as a part of the ongoing investigation.
