Slidell Man Found to be Making Crack at His Home

On Friday (May 10, 2024) detectives with the St Tammany Parish Sheriff's Narcotics Division and Proactive Enforcement Unit arrested 57 year-old Renell Williams, a Slidell resident after it was discovered he was operating a drug distribution network.

As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives conducted a traffic stop on Williams as he was driving near the intersection of Northshore Boulevard and Gause Boulevard West. A search of Williams’ truck led to the discovery of cocaine. Following the traffic stop, detectives executed search warrants at Williams’ apartment on Meadows Boulevard and at a second residence used by Williams in the 54000 block of Patrick Street.

During the search of the Meadows apartment, detectives seized nearly 50 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and $2,620 in cash.  A search of the residence on Patrick Street led to the discovery and seizure of a number of items related to the clandestine manufacturing “cooking” of crack cocaine.

The quantity and packaging method of the crack cocaine indicated Williams was in possession of approximately 500 individual doses of crack or nearly 500 “crack rocks”.

As a result of these discoveries, Williams was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II CDS (cocaine) (2 Counts), Creation or Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory for the Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Proper Equipment/Display of Plate Required on Vehicles.

“Let this be a message to criminals,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “We will not tolerate you making and selling illegal drugs in our community. I urge anyone with information about people selling narcotics in our parish to contact us by submitting a tip via the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office website (www.STPSO.com), or by calling the narcotics tip line (1-888-GO-2-JAIL).”
