Holyne Passman

September 16, 1932 - May 23, 2024

Holyne Passman, age 91 and  a resident of Franklinton, passed away Thursday night May 23, 2024 at Riverside Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a Class of 1950 graduate of Franklinton High School and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton. He was a United States Navy veteran during the Korean War era, serving his country as a radio operator, stationed in Hawaii and Taiwan for a time. He operated Passman Chevrolet in Franklinton, alongside his brother, for several years before working in accounting for Capital Welding Supplies, the Washington Parish Farmer’s Co-Op and later at Riverside Medical Center before retiring. Holyne and his wife Geraldine would then volunteer at the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home serving their many clients with love and compassion. Earlier in life, he coached his sons and many other young men in Dixie Youth Baseball for many years. Holyne lived near the Bogue Chitto River, so he and his family spent countless hours fishing, boating and running trotlines. More recently, he enjoyed going to different businesses in town drinking coffee while visiting with his friends and other customers. He was forever a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survived by: 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Mike and Pam Passman of Hickory, NC, Richard and Renee Passman of Searcy, AR, Triche and Courtney Passman of West Monroe, LA; 9 Grandchildren and Spouses: Andrew Craven, Jamie Taylor, Shawn and Shannon Passman, Dache Passman, Aftan and Jachin Woods, Tommy Pratt, Sawyer Passman, Lane Passman, Landry Passman; Great-grandchildren: Ian Passman, Joustin Passman, Caroline Taylor, Mason Taylor, Maverick Taylor, Alexis Bratton, Brody Woods, Brandon Woods, Drake Pratt, Gunner Pratt; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Geraldine Gibson Passman, parents Arelious Passman and Luby Penny Passman, brother John Robert Passman, father in law and mother in law Lee and Taphenia Gibson and many other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Sunday May 26th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Joey Miller officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Morris Cemetery.
