Obituary

Brent Jude Hymel, Sr.

January 30, 1945 - April 24, 2024

Brent Jude Hymel, Sr., age 79 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away early Wednesday morning April 24, 2024. He was a former longtime resident of Marrero before moving his family to Washington Parish over 35 years ago. Brent had a 30 year career as a sandblaster and painter before retiring. He later worked as a cook at The Palace Drive-In in Franklinton for several years. Brent enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with his family and telling jokes. He was always willing to help others in need and he was an excellent storyteller. Brent had a great sense of humor and he loved to joke around with his family and friends, but you often couldn’t tell if he was serious or not, which made it even funnier for him. He was the “life of every party” and he will be missed for all the great times he shared with his loved ones.
