Jewel Delton Rogers

June 20, 1938 - March 30, 2024

Jewel Delton Rogers, age 85, passed away on March 30, 2024, at his home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Mr. Rogers was a life-long resident of Washington Parish and a member of Monroe Street Baptist Church. He served his country for 20 years in the Army National Guard and retired from Crown-Zellerbach (Southern Timber). Mr. Rogers was known for his storytelling, and ability to joke and make someone smile and laugh. He was also a proud member of the local American Legion.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his four children: Debbie Bennett (Ronnie), Dorinda Seals (Kenneth), Donna Rogers, and Dewayne Rogers (Lisa); five grandchildren: Kimberly Hano (Dustin), Allen Seals (Jennifer), Mandy Young (Seth), Ali Duncan, and Jewel Rogers; three great-grandchildren: Kaitlynn Hano, Jackson Young, and Steven Young; and two sister-in-laws: Patsy Rogers and Faye Odom.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years: Mrs. Evelyn Smith Rogers; his parents: Wiley Rogers, Sr. and Eva Carroll Rogers; and two brothers: Wiley Rogers, Jr., and Jim Rogers.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. April 1, 2024, visitation will start in the funeral home chapel from 5PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 9AM until time of service at 11AM. Bro. Chad Jenkins will officiate all services. Interment will immediately follow service at Carroll Cemetery.
