Betty Adams
September 9, 1941 - March 4, 2024
"Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die."-John 11:25-26
Sister Betty Adams was born September 9, 1941, to late James and Estelle Conerly. On the evening of March 4, 2024, God dispatched an angel of mercy to her bedside to bring her to her heavenly home. She had fought the good fight, and with steadfast faith, she completed her earthly journey.
Sister Adams accepted Christ at a young age and remained a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church until her health declined. She sang in the choir, served as a Stewardess and was a missionary.
She attended Central Memorial High School. During her lifetime, she was a proud member of the Eastern Star, Sirens and Heroines of Jericho, where she served fearlessly, and was a dedicated member to these organizations. She worked at Pioneer Aerospace for over 35 years until her untimely retirement. There she was a dedicated and dependable employee.
She was the proud mother of Levon A. Harry, Sr. whom she shared a remarkable bond, while teaching the importance of hard work, and taking care of family. She received an additional son, Frankie Adams, when united in matrimony to Frank Adams.
Her memory will live on through her family and numerous friends.
She leaves behind to cherish those memories one son: Levon (Carolyn) Harry, Sr. Three sisters: Ora Murphy, Joan (Charles) Hill and Constance Russell, and one brother: Robert (Hajarene) Conerly, Sr. Five grandsons: Levon Harry, Jr., Otha Foster, III, Cordney Adams, LaJordan (Brandi) Harry, and LeMarkis (Krishonna) Harry. Two granddaughters: Eureka Williams and Edwanna Smoot. Eleven great grandchildren: JeKhari, Quanterius, Jemiah, Micah, Zyen, Eden, Jasmine, Mya, Jayden, Levaeh, and Lennox Jrue. Four special nieces: Linda, Josie, Sabrina, and Karen. A bonus son: Stanley (Terri) Neuman. Goddaughter: Lisa Jackson and Godson: Ansel Magee.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. and Mrs. James (Estelle) Conerly; her husband: Frank Adams; one son: Frankie Adams; a granddaughter: Patrice Adams; two sisters: Mary Conerly and Louvenia Hall; and one brother Richard “Sackman” Conerly.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 3:00PM – 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel 809 E. Third Str Bogalusa, LA 70427. The funeral service will be at 11:00AM at St. Paul AME Church 420 Church St, Bogalusa, LA 70427 with Rev. Dr. Kerry James - Pastor officiating. Interment - Bogalusa Cemetery.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home Bogalusa, LA; are in charge of arrangements.
