Bogalusa-area Man Fled From Police After Traffic Stop

The Bogalusa Police Department has reported that 44 year-old Shaun Hobgood, ️a Bogalusa-area man, was arrested after 3+ ounces of methamphetamines and heroin were located inside of his vehicle during a traffic stop on Wednesday (March 27, 2024).

A Bogalusa Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was occupied by the Hobgood. Hobgood fled on foot but was quickly caught and placed under arrest. A subsequent search of Hobgood's vehicle revealed him to be in possession of approximately 3.07 ounces of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin, and an assortment of other illegal narcotics and contraband. 

Hobgood was later booked into the Washington Parish Jail on the charges of Failure to Use Turn Signal 100 ft. Prior to Turn, Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule II Drugs, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Schedule III Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting an Officer, Open Container in Vehicle, Probation and Parole Hold, Obstructing Public Passage(s), and Fugitive Other Jurisdiction.

A/Assistant Chief Tervalon commends the hard work and dedication exhibited by the men and women of the Bogalusa Police Department. Removing these dangerous substances from our community will continue to be a priority.
