Dolores Dean Corkern King

November 23, 1938 - February 5, 2024

Dolores Dean Corkern King, age 85, went to her heavenly home on Monday, February 5, 2024. She was a life-long resident of St. Tammany and Washington Parishes. Dean dedicated many years of her career to Poole Lumber Company, she created beautiful wedding cakes for family and friends, and she followed in her father’s footsteps as a well-known beekeeper. When she wasn’t working, you could find her rooting on her grandchildren at baseball games, tending to her plants and animals. She enjoyed planning games and pranks for holiday gatherings. Dean loved spending time with her family and was known for her delicious lemon pies. During the last few years she has enjoyed living on the creek in Mt. Hermon, feeding the birds and taking her of her grand-dogs Gunner and Honey on rides in her wheelchair. Known to many as Granny, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Survived by: Son: Bobby King (Tyra); 2 Grandsons: Hunter King (Christie), Brady King (Emily); Great grandchildren: Easton, Denver, Andi, and Fisher; Sister: Diane Kehoe; And a host of nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Earl “Pap”, her parents W. A. and Cleo Corkern, brother Johnny Corkern and a sister Joellen Herring.
