Michael Arthur Lewis

December 1, 1939 - February 23, 2024

Michael Arthur Lewis, age 84 and a resident of Mount Hermon, passed away Friday evening February 23, 2024 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was retired from Ayers Material Company after serving as general manager for many years. Mike also operated a dairy farm during this time. He served his country as a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in New Orleans and was a 32 degree Mason. Mike was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church who enjoyed fishing and spending time in the great outdoors. He liked drawing, as he was once a talented draftsman. Mike liked trains and airplanes and he enjoyed taking care of his pets and barnyard animals.

Survived by: Wife: Ginger Ann Ayers Lewis; 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Michael Ayers Lewis and Lora Lewis, James Ayers Lewis and Billie Lewis, Patrick Sherwood Ayers Lewis; 13 Grandchildren; 8 Great-grandchildren; Brother and Sister in law: Charles Gary Lewis and Vicki Lewis

He was preceded in death by her parents Arthur O. Lewis and Agnes Graves Lewis and a sister Martha Ann Lewis Byrne.

Visitation will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church (25393 Mt. Pisgah Road, Mt. Hermon, LA) on Saturday March 2nd from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 12:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Leonard Smith and Rev. Scott Spinks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
