Carolyn Toney Magee

March 21, 1945 - January 23, 2024

Carolyn Toney Magee, age 78 and a resident of Pine, passed away Tuesday morning January 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was retired after a career with the Washington Parish School Board working has a para-professional in the Franklinton Schools. Carolyn served children with special needs both in the classroom and later on bus routes, an important job she cherished very much. She was a member of Richardson Baptist Church. Carolyn liked to draw, color abstract pictures and write unique poems for her family members. She also enjoyed watching the beautiful butterflies and hummingbirds in her yard. She loved cooking for her family, especially their favorites chicken ‘n dumplins, red beans and other delicious meals. Carolyn was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she adored her grandchildren and young great-grandchildren.

Survived by: 3 Daughters and Sons in law: Patty and Tim Crowe, Regina and H.L. Sumrall, Teresa and Richard Gill; Son: Russell “Rusty” Magee; 9 Grandchildren and Spouses: Dustin and Robin Crowe, Brad and Eden Crowe, Chad and Angela Crowe, Cody and Amanda Sumrall, Carla and Andrew Adams, Tiffany and Trent Magee, Lance Duncan, Joshua and Collin Magee, Jeremy and Monica Magee; 25 Beloved Great-grandchildren; Sister: Debbie Willie Hackney; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Russell Magee, parents Herman Toney and Lillie Folks Toney, sisters JoAnn “Pee Wee” Niquiporo, Karen Thompson, brother Leroy Toney and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday January 26th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Friday with her grandson Bro. Brad Crowe and Bro. Jimmy Oalmann officiating. Burial will follow in the San Pedro Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are grandsons Dustin Crowe, Chad Crowe, Cody Sumrall, Lance Duncan, Joshua Magee, Jeremy Magee

Honorary Pallbearers are her great-grandsons
