Elsie Brumfield Crain

September 4, 1939 - January 5, 2024

Elsie Brumfield Crain “Skidder” was born on September 9, 1939, in Tylertown, MS, to the late Zeno and Hettie Brumfield. She was married to the late Nevous Crain, Jr., and together they had two children: Mike and Kim. She also raised Amanda Crain as her own.

She is survived by her brother: William Brumfield and two granddaughters: Alex Roberts and Harleigh Roberts.

Elsie was also preceded in death by five of her siblings: Buddy Brumfield, Chris Brumfield, Leo Brumfield, Bobby Brumfield, and Genell Breland.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Elsie had a passion for traveling, specifically to the Great Smoky Mountains, and caring for her dog, Lucy. Elsie was a bright and sweet, loving soul. She made a friend everywhere she went.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Wednesday, January 10, 2023, a visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel from 10AM until time of service at 12PM. Interment will immediately follow after funeral service at Carson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Improve, MS. Bro. Clark Lowery will officiate all services.
