John Bruce McNeese

August 6, 1948 - January 4, 2024

John Bruce McNeese, age 75 and a resident of the Thomas Community, passed away Thursday morning January 4, 2024 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He had worked different jobs through the years but had recently worked on dairy farms for several families around the area. Bruce loved football, attending local high school games and watching the Saints or other teams on TV every chance that he could. He also enjoyed watching his favorite wrestling show each week. Bruce sold delicious watermelons for many years around Washington and St. Tammany Parish. He liked going to parades and crawfish boils with his family and friends. He also liked working with the parking crew at the Washington Parish Fair every October. Bruce loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all his family.

Survived by: Daughter: Jennifer Bibeau of Picayune, MS; 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Brian and Dottie McNeese of Oklahoma, Jacob McNeese and Pattie Bremer of Slidell; 8 Grandchildren and Spouses; 10 Great-grandchildren; Samantha Williamson and her mother Marie; Brother and Sister in law: Chess “Peanut” McNeese, Jr. and Debbie McNeese of Bogalusa; Sisters: Laura Nell Penton, Vida Lewis both of Bogalusa; Special Niece: Cheryl Meaux; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by his parents Chess McNeese, Sr. and Gladys Rogers McNeese, brothers William “Billy” McNeese, Michael McNeese, Sr., sisters Delores Bass, Shirley Jones.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday January 7th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Harold Gaddy and Rev. Keith Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the Gay Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to help with final expenses.
