Due to the threats forecasted for our area, Washington Parish President Ryan Seal urges all citizens to ensure they have a plan in place to protect themselves, pets, pipes and plants. Check on children and the elderly as they are especially vulnerable to the cold. A Hard Freeze Warning, High Wind Advisory and Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for our area by the National Weather Service.
Parish work crews are on stand by and ready for any problems that may arise due to the severe winter weather.
Citizens of the parish are encouraged to remain vigilant and monitor local media for any updates to the forecast. Updates from the National Weather Service can be found at www.weather.gov/lix. Information related to any state road closures can be found at 511la.org.
