Obituary

Sabrina Monique Singleton

July 15, 1988 - December 16, 2023

Sabrina Monique Singleton (also known as Smiley) was born on July 15, 1988, to Ricky and the late Mary R. Singleton, in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Sabrina was the youngest of three children.

Sabrina was a member of the Midway Church of Christ Holiness USA in Folsom, LA where she was a member of the choir and drill team.

Sabrina marched by her own beat, was bubbly, energetic and kept that same demeanor throughout her life. You would rarely, ever see her without a smile on her face. Sabrina attended and graduated from Covington High School where she was a member of the flag team. She loved people, had a helping hand, and always kept a positive helpful attitude. Those attitudes guided her to study Social Work at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. She loved to sing and was a part of the choir while at Southeastern University. She loved being around family, friends, softball, basketball, bowling, dancing, and dolphins.

On February 6, 2014, Sabrina met the love of her life, when she gave birth to her only child Destinee Jeree (CoCo) Singleton. She done everything in her power to be a wonderful mother. Sabrina would lovingly say “this is my little chocolate drop”.

Sabrina lived life to the fullest but was diagnosed with diabetes and began suffering from seizures. Though she was resilient and strong-willed, her natural body grew tired and on Saturday, December 16, 2023, Sabrina was called home.

Sabrina will be forever lovingly cherished and missed by all those who loved and knew her. Left to cherish her memories is her father, Ricky Singleton of Franklinton, LA; her only daughter, Destinee Jeree Singleton of Abita Springs, LA; one brother,  Aaron J. (DeAnn) Singleton of Tacoma, WA; and sister, Tequilla Santee of Abita Springs, LA; four nephews, De’Vion J. Matthie, DeAndre’ J. Santee, Mason Foley and Dylan J. Wilson; two nieces, Deanndrea (Woody) Singleton and Daniya J. Carter; paternal grandmother, Essie Singleton and a village of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Sabrina was preceded in death by her mother Mary R. Richardson.
