Jeanette Brumfield Smith

July 4, 1943 - December 11, 2023

Jeanette Brumfield Smith, age 80 and a resident of Central, Louisiana, died peacefully Monday afternoon December 11, 2023 after a lengthy illness. She was raised in the Hays Creek Community near Franklinton and was a 1961 graduate of Franklinton High School. Jeanette graduated from the Drone Spencer Business School in Baton Rouge and later worked as a baker at the Reeves Supermarket for over 10 years. She loved working in her yard, tending to her flowers and fishing. Jeanette loved going to church and visiting with all her friends and even people she just met. Everyone who met her loved her to death.

Survived by: Husband of 60 years: Allen Wilbur Smith; Daughter: Jana Smith; Son: Jason Smith; Granddaughter: Shelby Pouncey and her husband Ryan Pouncey; 3 Great-grandchildren: Kash Taylor Tregre, Kamille Pouncey, Kaizlee Pouncey; Brother: Gary Brumfield; Also numerous cousins and other family members

She was preceded in death by her parents Max Brumfield and Tina Dillon Brumfield, father in law Wilbur Smith and mother in law Vivian Burch and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Friday December 15th from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Friday with Rev. Frederick Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Hays Creek Southern Baptist Church Cemetery.
