Covington Police Arrest Three in Connection With Fentany Distribution, Cruelty to Juveniles

The Covington Police Department has reported the arrests of 23 year-old Jeremy Rodgers, 23 year-old Bryce Harrison, and 24 year-old Johnquaries Laurant on charges that included Possession With Intent to Distribute (PWITD) Fentanyl, PWITD Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm with Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Cruelty to Juveniles. The arrests resulted from a search warrant by CPD Narcotics at an apartment in the 2000 block of Pine Crest Avenue in Covington.

The search warrant was itself the result of a welfare check conducted by CPD Narcotics and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services after receiving information concerning an individual observed dealing narcotics with several small children inside the residence.

CPD Narcotics seized 202 grams of fentanyl (over 2000 pills), 115 grams of marijuana, and a 7.62 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Over the past week, proactive CPD Officers removed three illegally possessed firearms, made arrests on various narcotics charges along with 15 open warrants, and recovered a stolen license plate.

In addition to proactive enforcement, the public plays a vital role in identifying suspects involved in criminal or suspicious activity. CPD's online reporting system is available to the public through an anonymous reporting form that investigators receive. The form can be found by visiting https://www.covla.com/city.../police-department/tips/.
