WPSO Reports Arrest of Convicted Felon With Firearms

The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office (WPSO) has announced the successful resolution of an incident near the Franklinton area. On the Tuesday (November 14, 2023) evening, there was a noticeable increase in law enforcement presence, as WPSO deputies responded to a situation involving a suspect, 36 year-old Lane Moore, believed to be in a wooded area near the residence at 27279 R F Ball RD, Franklinton. 

Moore was taken into custody and during the apprehension, officers recovered firearms, including one with an obliterated serial number. Moore was charged with two counts of convicted felon in possession of a firearm. possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and two failure to appear (FTA) warrants.

The WPSO team has been working diligently around the clock to uphold our commitment to the safety and security of Washington Parish residents.
