Slidell Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

Slidell Police, in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (F.B.I.), have made an arrest in Thursday (November 2, 2023) afternoon’s bank robbery, at Bank Plus (1936 Gause Blvd. E.). (See the video below)

Slidell Police responded Thursday to Bank Plus in reference to a bank robbery. The suspect fled the area, prior to officers’ arrival. This led to an extensive investigation, led by Slidell Police detectives, in partnership with the F.B.I. New Orleans field office.

By utilizing a wide range of surveillance videos from around the area, as well as other investigative tools, investigators were able to track down the bank robber in less than 24-hours. The suspect has been identified as 49 year-old, Herbert Earl Davis, who was residing at an address on Markham Drive in Slidell.

Davis, who is a convicted felon and had an extensive violent criminal history, was taken into custody Friday (November 3, 2023) during a traffic stop. Davis initially tried to elude officers by driving recklessly through a neighborhood, but was quickly located and apprehended.

Detectives conducted several search warrants and recovered evidence that linked Davis to the bank robbery.

Davis is currently being housed at the Slidell City Jail and is facing one count of Armed Robbery by Use of a Firearm and Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Additional charges are pending.
