Charles Ray Rester, age 73 and of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on November 4, 2023, in Bogalusa. He was born on November 30, 1949, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, to the late Hubert (Wilt) Rester and (Andy) Doris Creel. Charles was a loving husband to Tammy K. Rester and a devoted father to his two sons, Joshua Rester (Krystal) and Justin Rester (Caitlyn). He was also a cherished brother to Debbie Rester and a doting grandfather to Cameron, Elizabeth, Hayden, Caleb, Luke, Liam, and Madilyn, as well as a great-grandfather to Jordan. Charles is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and brother-in-laws Greg Knight and Jerry Miller. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Miller.
Charles attended Bogalusa High School and later went to serve in the US Navy. After his military service, he worked as a manager and a car dealer at Lakeshore Motors and Causeway Motors. Charles had a passion for carpentry and woodworking, which he enjoyed as hobbies. He was a man of strong faith and worshipped at Pettitt Memorial Baptist Church.
Funeral Services for Charles Ray Rester will be held at Brown McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on November 7, 2023. The visitation will take place from 4:00-6:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM. Brown McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA, will be assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
Charles will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family and friends. He was always there when anyone needed him, and his legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
