Zadie Mae Spikes

May 18, 1946 - November 22, 2023

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.    Revelation 3:21

Zadie Mae Spikes was born in Bogalusa, LA on May 18,1946 to the late Freddie Tyson and Dellar Lee. She departed this life November 22, 2023. 

Zadie was a life long of resident of Stateline in Angie, LA . She joined Ford’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Sandy Hook, MS at an early age. Zadie was employed at the New Orleans Furniture Company and Heritage Manor Nursing Home for many years.

Zadie Mae leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Derrick “Man” Lee of Angie, LA Darren “Lil Bit” Lee of Bogalusa, LA Kenneth “Kent” (Arynel ) Spikes of Bogalusa, LA, five sisters Patricia Jones, Albertha Bonna , Silvia (Frederick) Scott, Freddie Sharone Tyson, Pamela (Albert Ray), three brothers Jessie (Laniecy) Lee, Jr., Bruce (Tommy ) Tyson and Boswell (Majorie) Jordan, a very special sister-in-law Zola (Jean) Lee of Las Vegas, NV, a very special young lady whom she looked upon as a daughter Tanya Gillin, her dear friends Evon Monday- Johnson, Willie Mae Cole, Donice Owens, Fannie Roberts, Weddie (Dent) Brister, Tiffany Owens, Pastor Charles (Gail) Brumfield, God Child Darion (Dee) Roberts, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other young men she called her sons especially Beven Robinson and other relatives and friends. 

Zadie was preceded in death by her parents Freddie Tyson, Dellar Lee, her sister Emma Rodgers, her twin brothers Larry and Gary Lee, Troy Lee, her daughter Cynthia Lee, her son Jackie Spikes, Jr., an adopted grandson Jackie Spikes III. 

Services will be on December 2, 2023 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
